Giving Voice Awards 2012

The RCSLT Giving Voice Awards celebrate the creativity and commitment of speech and language therapy champions. Since the Giving Voice campaign began, RCSLT members and our supporters have been raising awareness of the life transforming work of speech and language therapists. After a stunning first year in 2011, the awards are back to recognise the latest outstanding efforts.

The 2012 Awards will:

  • Show how speech and language therapy transforms lives
  • Reward the efforts of those who have committed time and energy on behalf of our Giving Voice campaign
  • Celebrate the achievements of those who have contributed to the campaign throughout the year

Categories

The awards are divided into two categories.

A: Campaigning teams could nominate themselves for the following Awards. Winners receive £500 of RCSLT Events and Training Budget (Terms & Conditions Apply)

2. Giving Voice Team Award: Scotland
3. Giving Voice Team Award: Wales
4. Giving Voice Team Award: Northern Ireland

What do we mean by a ‘campaigning team?’ – we mean a group of RCSLT members who have undertaken Giving Voice activities within their organisation and their local community.

6. Politician of the year
7. Social media campaigner of the year

9. Partner organisation – for joint work at a national level
10. Partner organisation – for joint work at a local level

What next?

A judging panel consisting of RCSLT Trustees and external supporters of our campaign has met to decide on the winners.

The winning teams will have their videos played during the awards ceremony on 27th November 2012.

Up to four members from the winning campaign teams and all the individual winners of awards 6 -14 will be invited to the lunchtime awards ceremony as guests of the RCSLT. Winners will be informed in the week beginning 1st October to allow time to book leave and make travel arrangements. RCSLT will be able to subsidise travel for all winners on public transport booked four weeks ahead of the awards ceremony (by 30th October), but not overnight accommodation. If you haven’t heard from us by 8th October you can assume you haven’t won – sorry!

If you are a winner in 2012, we hope to work with you following the ceremony to share the secrets of your success with other members of RCSLT. For example, we might invite you to a training event in 2013 where you can present your winning video and speak in more detail about how you organised your local campaigning.

The deadline for entries and nominations was the 13th of September 2012.
